In this article, we'll address common Facebook posting errors you may encounter while using our social media management tool.

Please note that while we strive to provide a seamless experience, it's important to understand that we don't have complete control over the Facebook API, which can occasionally introduce changes or limitations affecting posting functionality.

You can find more detailed information about the common errors from the Facebook API in the Facebook documentation: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/error-reference/

Before you begin

Make sure you’ve correctly added your social accounts to Creasquare in the Connections tab. To learn more, see Social media connections to Creasquare. Then, make sure you are uploading content that answers each platforms’ requirements in terms of format, size and community guidelines.

"Missing sufficient permission to post."

This error occurs when the account you've connected with Creasquare does not have the necessary permissions to post on Facebook.

To resolve this, ensure that the connected Facebook account has appropriate permissions to publish content. You may need to check the settings of the Facebook Page or Group you're trying to post to and grant the necessary publishing permissions to the connected account.

"Please make sure that you have connected the Creasquare app to the Facebook Group."

This error message indicates that the Creasquare app is not properly connected to the Facebook Group you're attempting to post to.

To resolve this, verify that you have correctly connected Creasquare to your Facebook account and that the app has the required access to post on behalf of the connected Facebook Group. Double-check the app settings and permissions within both Creasquare and your Facebook account to ensure proper integration.

"The post is empty. Please enter a message, photo or video to share."

This error suggests that you're trying to post content without including any message, photo, or video. Facebook requires at least one of these elements to be included in a post.

Make sure that you have entered a message or attached a photo/video before attempting to post.

"Facebook server error. Please try again."

This error indicates a temporary issue on Facebook's server-side that is preventing the post from being published. It is generally a transient error, and trying again after a short period usually resolves the problem.

If the error persists, it may be worth checking Facebook's status page for any known issues.

Still having issues?

Re-authorize the Facebook API

If everything looks good but you are still having issues, try to re-authorize the Facebook API with Creasquare. You will need to connect to the Facebook business integrations.

  1. Once on the Facebook business integrations page, find Creasquare and click on "Remove"

2. Then select "Remove"

Note: If you don't see the Creasquare App here, you may find it in "Apps and websites". This can be the case if you only connected a Facebook Group.

3. Go back to Creasquare's Connection page, remove your Facebook connection

4. Finally, reconnect your Facebook account to Creasquare
